Forescout’s Riskiest Connected Devices of 2025 report highlights a growing cybersecurity threat across IT, IoT, OT, and IoMT devices. Key findings include a 15% rise in average device risk, with routers accounting for over 50% of the most critical vulnerabilities. The healthcare sector remains a major concern, as newly identified IoMT risks—such as imaging devices, lab equipment, and infusion pump controllers—pose serious threats to patient safety.
Retail leads as the riskiest industry, followed by financial services, government, healthcare, and manufacturing. Emerging high-risk IT devices include Application Delivery Controllers (ADCs), IPMI interfaces, firewalls, and domain controllers. Network infrastructure now presents a greater cybersecurity risk than traditional endpoints.
Forescout warns that security solutions must not operate in silos, as cybercriminals target interconnected systems across different domains. To address this, the company introduced eyeScope, a cloud-enabled platform for holistic device risk management. The report emphasizes the need for automated, enterprise-wide security controls to counter evolving threats.
